November 1, 2012 (Raleigh, NC) — Campus Enterprises, the lead division for retail and hospitality at NC State University, will return $1,187,367 to the university for merit/need-based scholarship and student support programs for the 2012-2013 academic year. The check was presented Friday at noon at an event on the Brickyard in conjunction with the NC State Bookstores’ Student Tee Shirt Design Competition Reveal.

The annual contribution was generated through the proceeds from Campus Enterprises organizations. The division has returned more than $3.3 million since its inception in 2009.  As a part of the office of Finance and Business, the division includes the university’s retail and hospitality organizations, including University Dining, NC State Bookstores, University Trademark Licensing, the Lonnie Poole Golf Course, Student Center Operations (Witherspoon, Thompson, Price and Talley), and the Wolfpack One Card. Campus Enterprises is currently leading campus-wide efforts that include the $120 million Talley Student Center renovation and addition.

“We are proud to allocate a significant portion of our proceeds to help our students in their pursuit of a degree from NC State University,” said Dr. Dan Adams, associate vice chancellor of Campus Enterprises. We understand the continuing financial challenges to our students in obtaining a college degree and are committed to returning dollars to provide on-going support to our students.”

What kinds of merit scholarships are available for current freshmen students? How do students apply?

    Thank you! Jackie Copeland

    Hi Jackie,

We do not actually offer merit scholarships. We simply generate funds that are used for scholarships. You should contact the Financial Aid office for advice on where to look. Hope that helps!
