Last sale in the NC State Bookstore on Dunn Avenue before bookstore operation relocates.
April 22, 2011 (Raleigh, NC)— NC State Bookstores at North Carolina State University will be hosting a “Sidewalk Sale” in their current location, 2521 Dunn Avenue, April 28 – 29 from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The “Sidewalk Sale” is an annual event held on the final days of each spring semester.
This year’s “Sidewalk Sale” is significant because it will be the last sale held in the building. The current location on Dunn Avenue has been the NC State Bookstores’ headquarters since 1959. Apparel and merchandise at the sale will be discounted by up to 95 percent.
The NC State Bookstores main location will permanently close this June as part of the Talley Student Center Addition and Renovation construction project that will break ground this summer. Until the NCSU Bookstores moves to its permanent location in the new Talley Student Center, NC State Bookstores will operate out of the first floor of Harrelson Hall. The building is currently being up-fitted to accommodate the bookstore operation.
“After 52 years, this year’s ‘Sidewalk Sale’ will be the final event held at the NC State Bookstores main building,” said John Starbuck, assistant director and marketing manager of NC State Bookstore “This year’s “Sidewalk Sale” will be especially important because it is the last opportunity for the bookstore to clear out merchandise before the building is vacated in June.”
