The N.C. Golf Panel has released the 2019 golf course rankings after rating almost 600 golf courses across the state.
For the second year in a row, the Lonnie Poole Golf Course has maintained its rankings in multiple categories:
- #1 Most Challenging Tee Shot in the Triangle
- #1 Public Golf Course in Raleigh
- #1 Public Course in the Triangle for Best Practice Facilities
- #16 in NC for “Courses You Can Play”
- #61 out of 600 in the overall rankings
“We were pleased that the Golf Panel recognized us not only as the number 1 public course in Raleigh but also recognized our practice facilities,” said Chip Watson, general manager. “I believe this is due to our player development suite and expert club fitting services that recently drew the attention of Golf Magazine.”
The Lonnie Poole turf and professional golf staff work hard to maintain this championship, Arnold Palmer signature course and ensure golfers have the best experience possible while playing the course.
The course was also recently recognized as the top public course in Raleigh by WRAL views and one of the top 25 clubfitters in the country by Golf Magazine.
“Anyone who has not been out to the course lately is missing out,” added Watson. “Our course has never been in better shape going into the spring, and our leagues are already very active. It’s going to be a great summer.”
