Ten years after he led the Cardiac Pack to an NCAA Championship, Jim Valvano was presented with the Arthur Ashe Award for Courage at the first ESPY Awards ceremony in 1993. Less than two months later, Valvano would pass away from cancer, but not before he worked with ESPN to found the V Foundation for Cancer Research. The V Foundation was made in his honor, aiming to achieve Victory Over Cancer®.
Wolfpack Outfitters is commemorating 30 years of the V Foundation and honoring the leader of the Cardiac Pack by partnering with HanesBrands and Alternative Apparel to launch a 30th Anniversary Apparel Collection. The collection includes five t-shirts sporting quotes from Valvano’s iconic Arthur Ashe Award acceptance speech, which remains one of the most enduring and inspirational in all of sports history.
The Wolfpack community can purchase apparel from the Jimmy V 30th Anniversary Collection through the Wolfpack Outfitters website and in store. A portion of all proceeds earned from the collection will be used to support cancer research through the V Foundation.
