Rave! Catering Announces Scott Button as Director
RALEIGH, NC (Nov. 9, 2013) – Rave! Catering, the official catering operation at NC State University, has announced Scott Button as the new director of Rave! Catering. Button joins the catering team as a veteran of fine hospitality with more than 20 years of experience within the industry at establishments such as at Canlis and Rians of Portland, Oregon.
After serving as an executive chef for Restaurants Unlimited, Button’s pursuit of the culinary and hospitality field has taken him worldwide, allowing him to bring innovative ideas to the higher education table. The most recent 10 years of Button’s career were spent at the University of Arizona, where he managed the university’s catering operations and played a key role in opening a new student union.
“I’m dedicated to providing excellent service to both the community and to the guests I encounter,” Button said. “Creating exceptional experiences and quality presentation is the art of the challenge.”
Randy Lait, senior director of hospitality services, says Button was selected for his proven background in higher education catering. “I met Scott a few years ago at the University of Arizona and saw first-hand the high level of catering he delivered, from simple lunches to VIP extravaganzas,” Lait said. “As a seasoned catering professional with university catering experience, Scott is uniquely qualified for this role. I am certain that our campus event planners will enjoy working with Scott and the Rave! Catering team to help make their events a success.”
