NC State Dining Adds Food Truck Program

August 10, 2012 (Raleigh, N.C.) — NC State Dining announces it will partner with independent Raleigh-area food truck vendors to bring a variety of lunch-time options to under served areas of the campus.  The trucks will begin serving the campus on August 13.

“NC State Dining has more than 30 dining locations on campus, but we have a few pockets that do not have easy access to dining options,” said Kevin Howen, business manager for NC State Dining. “Since there was no available space inside the buildings where food service is needed, we turned to a trend that has taken root over the past few years–Food Trucks–to bring a variety of options during that critical lunch time period.”

The food trucks will provide service between 11:30 a.m. and 2 p.m. each day (individual schedules may vary) behind Biltmore Hall (just off Dan Allen Drive), behind Admin II (Sullivan Drive) and at Venture II-A and II-B on Centennial Campus.  Participating vendors include Klausie’s Pizza, Big Al’s BBQ, Hibachi Xpress, American Meltdown, Only Burger, Chick-N-Que, Groovy Dogs, Chirba Chirba, Parlez-Vous Crepes and baguettaboutit.

Food truck locations and menus are posted at go.ncsu.edu/food_trucks, and changes to the schedule will be tweeted (@ncstatedining) or posted on Facebook (ncsudining).  The twitter feed is posted on NC State Dining’s home page: ncsu.edu/dining.
