Catering and Event Management on NC State University campus at Talley Student Union, Witherspoon Student Center, Thompson Hall, Price Music Center, Hunt Library, McKimmon Conference and Training Center and Vaughn Towers at Carter-Finley Stadium.

Special Event Staffing

All State Ballroom, Duke Energy Hall, Governance Chamber, and Cinema events require a minimum staffing level of one AV Tech Assistant for the duration of the event. Depending on the complexity of the event and the amount AV equipment required, additional staffing may be necessary. Other Special Events (multi-day and/or multi-venue events) may be required to have a minimum staffing level to ensure the quality of your event.

Special Set-up Staffing

Fourth and Fifth floor meeting rooms (Talley) are pre-set with a standard room set-up. If a client desires an alternate set-up, a staffing fee (Event Assistant) will be charged for the amount of time required to set-up and break down the room according to the client’s specifications. The Duke Energy Hall (Hunt) does not have a standard set-up, a staffing fee (Event Assistant) will be charged for the amount of time required to set-up and break-down the room according to the client’s specifications.

Safety and Security Staffing

As part of our commitment to health and safety, the Student Centers staff will assess all events for the potential of risk. If an event poses a potential health or safety risk, the Student Centers, with assistance from NC State police, EH&S, and Fire Protection, will determine a staffing plan appropriate for the event.

Housekeeping and Maintenance

Clients needing electrical connection to company switch (State Ballroom and Stafford Commons) will be assessed actual charges from Facilities Operations. Fees may be assessed to clients if their event causes damage to the Student Centers facilities. An excessive cleaning fee may be assessed to clients if the Student Centers facilities need extensive cleaning at the conclusion of an event.
