Hi. My name is Tim Hogan and I’m the Operations Director for the NC State University Student Centers as a part of the Campus Enterprises Division at NC State. I’m brand new to Raleigh and NC State, I just moved to Raleigh and started my job at NC State in January 2011.
The NC State University Student Centers include Talley, Witherspoon, Price, and Thompson. I worked at Georgia State in Atlanta for 3 years prior to coming to NC State, and before that I spent 15 years at Ohio University in Athens, Ohio working at Baker University Center.
In 2007 I had the privilege of opening a brand new university center at Ohio University for the campus of 20,000 students. I am very happy to be at NC State and I’m looking forward to being part of the Wolfpack!
At NC State our department is responsible for maintenance and housekeeping services at Price and Thompson, and we are responsible for the overall operation of Talley Student Center and Witherspoon Student Center. Specific areas of responsibility include reservations, event management, information desk, games room, and night/weekend operations as well as housekeeping and maintenance services for Talley and Witherspoon.
I am very interested in how the new Talley has the potential to transform our campus as we know it. I’m able to see on a daily basis that Talley is used for dining, games, meetings, programs, and casual study/relaxing space. Our goal is to continue to provide these services and more, in a comfortable and welcoming atmosphere in the new Talley.
As we are planning the newly expanded and renovated Talley Student Center, it is our job to anticipate the operational issues that will face us and prepare positive solutions as we open the new facility. Please feel free to contact me me if you have any questions or operational concerns regarding Talley and Witherspoon Student Centers. I look forward to meeting students on campus that are interested in improving our student centers.
