Witherspoon Student Center Updates Complete August 2011

August 8, 2011 (Raleigh, NC) — Minor renovations to Witherspoon Student Center began July 27 with plans to update the facility in an effort to improve the functionality, aesthetic look and traffic flow of the building.  Renovations are scheduled for completion in August 2011.

“If you spend much time in Witherspoon, you’ll notice a trend in student gathering places,” said Jimmy Wright, director of operations and planning at Campus Enterprises. “We’re trying to modernize these popular places in the building to give students an area where they can come to relax or study.”

In addition to renovations inside of the building, the aesthetics on the outside are being reevaluated with the intention of giving the building a more-welcoming feel, particularly on the Cates Avenue side.  Landscaping improvements are also being considered on Harris Field outside of Witherspoon.

Witherspoon Student Center will remain open for classes in the fall semester, unaffected by the renovation process.
