Annual All Carolinas Meal Scheduled for September 8

Meal features foods all from the Carolinas

September 2, 2011 (Raleigh, NC) — NC State Dining announces its annual All Carolinas Meal on September 8, 2011 from 5:00 p.m. –  8:30 p.m. at Fountain Dining Hall and Clark Dining Hall.   The meal is a celebration of locally grown products from all over the Carolinas, featuring products from Brookwood Farms, Wayne Bailey Farms, Carolina Catfish, House of Raeford and many more.

The All Carolinas Meal is a popular event that allows students to enjoy regional favorites and support locally produced foods.  This year’s menu offers BBQ butt, fried catfish, carved turkey breast, baked BBQ chicken and pimento cheese sandwiches;  vegan and vegetarian options include sweet potato pilaf and fresh vegetable cous cous; side items include baby redskin potatoes, collard greens with ham hocks, green beans, cole slaw, potato salad, hush puppies, and waldorf salad; soup options are Brunswick stew and tomato basil soup; dessert features an assortment of cakes, sweet potato pie, pecan pie, Howling Cow Sweet Potato Pie ice cream, and fresh apples or peaches.

“The All Carolinas Meal allows students to connect with healthy, fresh foods and the farmers who grow it,” said Jennifer Gilmore, director of marketing for Campus Enterprises.  “We’re proud to partner with North Carolina farmers and manufacturers for this annual event.”

Students and patrons can use a meal plan, pay $10 on their AllCampus account or $10.50 cash or debit.  Take out is not available for theme meals.
