Talley Construction Update: March 16, 2012

Schedule: Past 7 Days

Existing Talley

1. Completed the demolition of the Ballroom Storage Wall (the brick wall you could see from the exterior NE Corner)

2. Continued the 2nd floor 2-hour corridor wall

3. Completed the 3th floor abatement

4. Continued on the 4th-floor demo and abatement

5. Completed the lighted exit sign relocation in Stewart

6. Started the micropile installation at the northeast corner (outside of the Foodcourt)

North of Talley – West Side (Future site of Dock, Dining, Senate Chambers & Arts NC State)

1. Continued west grading and excavation work

North of Talley – East Side (Future site of Dining, Ballroom and Meeting Rooms)

1. Staging for demolition

Other Areas

1. Started the excavation for the new steam piping on Cates Ave.

Schedule: Next 7 Days

Construction Noise will continue to be RED

Existing Talley

1. Complete the 2nd floor corridor walls

2. Start the 3rd floor separation walls

3. Complete the 4th floor abatement

4. Start the Precast demolition on the North Side

5. Cap the existing water main in Talley

– Domestic water shut down of existing Talley is scheduled for 6:00 AM on Saturday March 17.

– Service to be restored by 11:30 AM.

6. Complete micropile installation for temp shoring

North of Talley – West Side (Future site of Dock, Dining, Senate Chambers & Arts NC State)

1. Continue Excavation and Grading

2. Demo the steam and water piping on North Side

North of Talley – East Side (Future site of Dining, Ballroom and Meeting Rooms)

1. Staging for demolition

Other areas

1. Complete the steam tie in at Cates Ave
