Talley Construction Update: June 7, 2012

Progress continues with over 400 piles installed and 20 pile caps poured! Here is a picture taken yesterday of the site, where you can see the footprints of the pavilions taking shape.

June 6th Progress

As noted below in the schedule, things should start to go vertical this coming week with the first concrete walls being poured.

Fly Through
See the virtual tour of the New Talley. This was initially shown in November and featured at the Talley Table Talk. We now have it uploaded for those who did not get a chance to see it. While the virtual tour is was based off of early construction documents and some things have changed, you can get a great sense of what it will be like to be in the New Talley.

Save the date – Steel Signing
Mark you calendar and join us to sign your name on a piece of steel going into the New Talley. The Steel Signing will be during Wolfpack Welcome Week on Wednesday, August 15 from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. (during Campus Crawl) and 7 – 9 p.m. (during Respect the Pack) at Wolf Plaza.

Schedule: Past 7 Days (May 31 – June 6)

North of Talley – West Side
Future site of Dock, Dining, Senate Chambers & Arts NC State
1. Completed foundation grading
2. Continued auger cast pile installation (401 piles installed so far!)
3. Continued pile cap installation

North of Talley – East Side
Future site of Dining, Ballroom and Meeting Rooms
1. Completed foundation grading
2. Started auger cast pile installation

Schedule: Next 7 Days (June 7 – June 13)
**Construction Noise will move back to Yellow (moderate noise/vibration occasionally louder/heavier, but mild overall)**

North of Talley – West Side
Future site of Dock, Dining, Senate Chambers & Arts NC State
1. Continue the auger cast pile installation
2. Continue the concrete pile cap installation
3. Start concrete wall installation

North of Talley – East Side
Future site of Dining, Ballroom and Meeting Rooms
1. Continue the auger cast pile installation
