Centennial Campus will be the site of a privately managed hotel and conference facility that will operate under the Marriott Autograph Collection franchise, university officials have announced. The $28 million facility is expected to open with 155 rooms and 7,500 square feet of meeting space with the potential to add up to 75 additional rooms and another 7,500 square feet of meeting space in the future.
The hotel, which is slated to open in 2016, will overlook Lake Raleigh and sit adjacent to the Park Alumni Center.
“This hotel is the latest exciting addition to Centennial Campus,” said Chancellor Randy Woodson. “Not only will it be a place of learning and collaboration but it will also serve as an important amenity for the campus.”
The university envisions using the hotel to attract regional, national and international conferences, particularly those related to education, science and technology. The new facility will also help enhance the development of industry, government and academic partnerships that foster a unique learning and living environment on Centennial Campus.
The project will be privately funded and developed by NF II/CEI Raleigh LLC, a partnership of Concord Eastridge Inc. and Noble Investment Group. NC State will lease the land to the developer, who will build, own and operate the facility.
