NC State Bookstores Announces Name Change

|

May 17, 2017 – A small but noticeable change is coming to NC State Bookstores. The umbrella organization for NC State University’s apparel, technology, school supplies and course materials locations along with Wolf Xpress and State of the Art will now be called NC State Stores.

“Dropping book from our name is more a recognition of our offerings and progress than simply a name change,” said Jeff Halliburton, director of NC State Stores. “We have multiple locations offering a variety and diversity of goods and services and we wanted our organizational name to reflect that.”

While some may always colloquially refer to the flagship location as “the bookstore,” Wolfpack Outfitters now represents the name of all of the retail locations for NC State Stores, including Pack Shop on Centennial Campus, which will adopt the Wolfpack Outfitters moniker over the summer.

Gameday merchandise concessions operations, which can be found permanently at the Eye Store in PNC Arena and on game days at Carter-Finley, Doak Field, Reynolds Coliseum, and the PNC Arena concourse. These gameday merchandise concessions operations–called State Stuff Stores–will also adopt the Wolfpack Outfitters name.

“This name change will provide consistency among our Wolfpack Outfitters locations so that our customer base can identify with our offerings and feel they are getting the same experience regardless of where they are on campus,” said Halliburton.

NC State Stores also comprises State of the Art, a custom t-shirt print and promotional item shop and Wolf Xpress, the on-campus print shop. These operations will maintain their names.
