Rave! Events’ Suzanne Pierce has been awarded the 2018-2019 Friend of Leadership and Civic Engagement for her support and service to the NC State organization.

According to Melissa Green, director of Leadership and Civic Engagement, the award recognizes individuals who have made significant contributions in support of the organization’s mission and create positive change in the world.

Suzanne, an event coordinator, was chosen for her critical role in supporting events, meetings and programs within Talley and Witherspoon.

“The backbone of our programs stands in the details,” said Green. “Do we have the room for the times we need? With the best set up? With working technology? With food to meet all of the dietary restrictions of our group? When all needs are met, the event goes off seamlessly. When any small details of those needs are NOT met, the havoc that can ensue can overshadow everything else. This is where Suzanne shines.

“Suzanne goes beyond expectations, working weekend events just to ensure the event is executed as planned, to take that burden off our team,” Green continued. “She is a true partner in our work. And perhaps even more important than that her work raises the bar, is how she approaches that work. Her door is always open and her phone is always answered. Both students and staff view her as approachable and friendly. She always greets with a smile and shows a genuine care for others in every interaction. Simply put, she is a joy to work with.”

Pierce was honored at a ceremony on April 25, 2019. This is the second year the award has been given. According to Green, the award was inspired last year by the first recipient — Lamonte Day — also a Campus Enterprises employee.
