NC State University’s Talley Student Union is turning 10, and we are here to celebrate. From September 8 to 12, the heart of campus will host a weeklong series of events designed to honor the past, celebrate the present and look ahead to the future. Visitors are invited to enjoy interactive activities, games, live music and giveaways throughout the week.
Here’s what’s planned:
Monday – Talley Open House
The celebration kicks off with an open house in Talley Student Union’s main lobby, where visitors can pick up a map and explore participating offices throughout the building. Each department will host an interactive station, offering guests a chance to discover the programs, services, and opportunities that make Talley a hub for connection and community.
Tuesday – Talley History Trivia Day
Test your knowledge of NC State history! From 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., guests can stop by our interactive trivia station in Talley’s main lobby for a fun challenge focused on the building’s history, design, and traditions. Prizes include stickers and limited-edition giveaways from the original 2015 Grand Opening. Visitors can also explore a timeline highlighting the evolution of Student Centers on NC State’s campus.
Wednesday – Student Center(s) Stage Wednesday
Ever wonder what it takes to keep Talley running? Wednesday offers a unique opportunity to meet the team behind Student Centers and get a hands-on look at the work that brings campus life to life. Visit interactive stations in the lobby to try your hand at tasks like setting up event diagrams, making a reservation in our system or even learning the best way to stack a chair.
Thursday – Stafford Commons Celebration – 10 Years on the Commons
Celebrate a decade of community on one of NC State’s favorite green spaces—Stafford Commons! Enjoy an afternoon of live music, lawn games, and delicious bites from a local food truck. Giveaways include stickers and a sweet treat from the truck, and we’re planning a special activation with Coca-Cola to keep the celebration going.
Friday – Happy Birthday, Talley!
We’ll wrap up the week with a birthday bash in Talley’s main lobby! Stop by for cupcakes, music, giveaways, and a special performance by NC State’s Ladies in Red. It’s the perfect way to celebrate 10 incredible years since Talley’s renovation.
