Talley Construction Update: March 8, 2012

Schedule: Past 7 Days

Existing Talley

1. Installed the 2-hour fire separation wall in the Wolves’ Den restaurant and construction office

2. Removed asbestos and demolished the 2nd floor soffit
3. Removed asbestos and began demolition of the ballroom storage room

4. Completed the column wrap demolition for the temporary shoring (steadying) and stair on the northeast corner of the Talley food court

5. Started the asbestos removal work on the third and forth floors

6. Completed door modifications in Stewart Theatre

North of Talley – West Side (Future site of dock, dining, senate chambers and Arts NC State)

1. Started excavation to build foundation and underground level of the building.

North of Talley – East Side (Future site of dining, ballroom and meeting rooms)

1. Staging for demolition.

Other areas

1. Completed steam shutdown on Cates Avenue

2. Installed fan coil float switches in Alexander Hall

Schedule: Next 7 Days

Construction Noise will continue to be RED

Existing Talley

1. Complete the ballroom storage wall demolition

2. Continue installing 2-hour rated corridor on the 2nd floor

3. Continue the 3rd and 4th floor abatement and demo

4. Complete the lighted exit sign relocation in Stewart

North of Talley – West Side (Future site of dock, dining, senate chambers & Arts NC State)

1. Continue excavation and grading

North of Talley – East Side (Future site of dining, ballroom and meeting rooms)

1. Staging for demolition

Other areas

1. Excavate for new steam piping on Cates Avenue.
