July 31, 2012 (Raleigh, N.C.) — NC State Dining and Coca-Cola will host their annual kick-off-to-the-new-year event, Welcome Back, Pack! on August 15 in the West Campus Amphitheatre. The event will feature a special menu at Fountain Dining Hall, inflatable attractions, prizes and hysterically funny comedian, Motor Mouth Mike, among other activities. Students also will have a chance to meet and make friends while learning about student organizations and clubs at NC State University.

“We usually have more than 4000 students visit over the course of the evening,” said Jennifer Gilmore, marketing director for NC State Dining. “We expect more than 100 campus groups to participate, and we are pleased to have U.S. Bank join us with a fun green screen activity that our students will love. We are also planning to serve Coke floats, fresh-cut local watermelon and cotton candy.”

The evening will kick off with a special welcome from Student Body President Andy Walsh and a march-through by the NC State Marching Band.  Mr. and Ms. Wuf will also make an appearance.

The dining hall menu that evening will include fried chicken, BBQ ribs, shrimp and grits, tofu parmesan, macaroni
and cheese, green beans, honey-glazed baby carrots, baked beans, Cajun cornbread, Sarah Lee desserts and Howling Cow™ banana soft-serve ice cream.

It is not too late for campus groups interested in having a table or performing at the event to participate. Interested parties can register through the SORC office at NC State.
