Talley Construction Update – August 30, 2012

Lots of progress this week with concrete walls and columns poured for the east half of the first floor as well as progress on the 2nd half of the elevated deck (2nd floor). Crews will be working over the Labor Day weekend preparing for the elevated deck pour next weekend. Stay tuned next week for specific information on that night pour. Backfill (dirt) also is seeing lots of movement as preparations for steel (2nd half of September) are underway. Below is a picture of the site with the Raleigh Skyline from Wednesday evening as the sun was going down.

Schedule: Past 7 Days (August 23 – August 29)

North of Talley – West Side 

Future site of Dock, Dining, Senate Chambers & Arts NC State

1. Continued foundation waterproofing and backfill

2. Completed the concrete mud mat for 2nd floor shoring support

3. Continued elevated deck formwork (Scheduled to pour September 7th & 8th)

North of Talley – East Side 

Future site of Dining, Ballroom and Meeting Rooms

1. Continued pile cap installation

2. Continued the concrete walls

3. Started installation of wall bracing

4. Continued the 3rd & 4th floor densglass installation

Schedule: Next 7 Days (August 30 – September 5)

***Crews will be working this Labor Day weekend (Saturday and Monday)***

Noise will be Yellow for Alexander Residents. Noise will be RED due to deck work activity next to the building.

North of Talley – West Side 

Future site of Dock, Dining, Senate Chambers & Arts NC State

1. Continue the foundation waterproofing and backfill

2.  Continue the elevated deck work (part 2 – closest to Alexander)
