Lonnie Poole Golf Course has reopened its renovated short game practice area, a major enhancement designed to elevate the pre-round experience for golfers. Since its opening in July 2009, the course has remained committed to providing a premier golf and practice environment, and this latest upgrade is a continuation of that mission.
Located adjacent to the Carol Johnson Poole Clubhouse, the improved facility now includes a 15,000-square-foot practice putting green, a designated chipping area and a 500-square-foot practice bunker. These additions offer golfers a more expansive and versatile space to fine-tune their short game before taking to the course.

To maintain the quality of the facility, the following usage guidelines are in place:
- Use is limited to customers with a Lonnie Poole Golf Course affiliation or players with a tee time that day.
- Walk-up access is not permitted.
- The area is designated for warm-up use only, not extended putting or chipping drills.
- Players must use their own golf balls (range balls are not allowed).
“We’re excited to introduce this expanded short game area to our guests and affiliated players,” said Chip Watson, general manager of Lonnie Poole Golf Course. “This project reflects our dedication to providing a high-caliber facility that supports both player development and a great overall golf experience.”
