Vegan/Plant-based Education & Cultural Diets Diplomat – Fall 2025
Campus Enterprises Mission: Campus Enterprises is NC State’s division of retail and
hospitality organizations – NC State Dining, NC State Stores, Lonnie Poole Golf Course, NC State Student Centers (Witherspoon and Talley), and the One Card Office. Each department is dedicated to providing service excellence, value, and enrichment of the student experience in support of academic success.
Dining and Catering employees earn free meals and are eligible for an end-of-semester bonus.
Purpose: The primary purpose of t his position will be to promote veganism, vegetarianism, and special cultural diets on campus and throughout NC State Dining. Emphasis will be placed on educating about the benefits of special diets on human health and environmental sustainability. This role serves as a year-long (August 13, 2025 – May 9, 2026), 1-credit/semester internship experience offered by NC State Dining as part of NTR-492: Professional Internship Experience in Nutrition Science.
Compensation: $10.75 (Tier 2)

Location: West Dunn Building, with periodic event support that may occur in multiple locations
around campus

Essential functions and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Works under the Director of Nutrition and Wellness to help educate about the benefits of vegan/plant-based diets on health & sustainability.
- Collaborates with sustainability interns to increase composting/waste management and other sustainability initiatives.
- Promotes vegan/vegetarian options in campus dining locations.
- Increases inclusion and awareness of special religious diets, cultural foods & dietary preferences.
- Collaborates with student cultural organizations to improve special religious dining events.
- Assists with Teaching Kitchen & catered events.

- Ability to communicate effectively with supervisors, staff, and peers
- Time management and organizational skills
- Ability to provide exemplary customer service
- Nutrition/Food Science major/minor preferred
