Student Assistant Manager – Residential Dining
Campus Enterprises Mission: Campus Enterprises is NC State University’s division of retail and hospitality organizations — NC State Dining, NC State Stores, Lonnie Poole Golf Course, NC State Student Centers (Witherspoon and Talley), and the One Card Office. Each department is dedicated to providing service excellence, value and enrichment of the student experience in support of academic success.
Purpose: Provide vital support to Campus Enterprises and NC State Dining by providing an excellent dining experience for all guests.
Compensation: $13.00/hr (Tier 3)
In addition, students who are eligible will receive longevity raises based on years of service within Campus Enterprises. Dining and Catering employees earn free meals and are eligible for an end-of-semester bonus of up to $200.
Location: Residential Dining units including Fountain, Clark, Case, Murphy, and University Towers. Applicants will have an opportunity to express their preference for locations. Please only apply once.

Essential functions and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Supervise residential dining operations to manage a station or area of operation
- Train and coach service staff, ensuring all protocols are followed correctly and consistently, and mistakes are minimized and corrected
- Assist Manager with recruiting, hiring and scheduling student teams
- Solve problems and communicate with other staff, managers, or vendors as needed to assure excellent service and food quality and safety
- Work on special projects assigned by the Manager or supervisors
- Assist with daily operations:
- Provide excellent customer service to all guests
- Work in a fast-paced environment to prep, serve and restock food items
- Maintain temperature and sanitation to ensure food safety
- Contribute to maintaining a Grade A sanitation rating of 95% or better
- Assist with weekly and monthly cleaning of kitchen and production area
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, peers, and guests.
- Help to maintain temperature and sanitation to ensure food safety and assist units in maintaining a Grade A sanitation of 95% or better.

Essential Qualifications
- Current NC State University student with a flexible schedule
- Willing to commit to 15-19 hours per week of scheduled work for the full semester, excluding holiday breaks
- Demonstrated leadership ability from past work or extracurricular experience
- Ability to balance among multiple tasks and priorities
- Ability to give clear and concise instructions and communicate effectively with diverse supervisors, peers and customers
- Ability to train, coach, lead and motivate team members effectively to create a positive and productive work environment
- Work with a sense of urgency, always be timely
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation
- Cross-trained in all functions of a Dining Associate through previous experience
