Several students in Professor Andrew Fox’s summer Design/Build Studio, along with help from NCSU maintenance staff, get to work salvaging flagstone from the Talley student center construction project. The stone, which would have gone to landfill, is being reclaimed, cleaned, and re-used by Fox’s class to hardscape several areas around the Owen and Turlington Residence Halls on the Central NCSU Campus. By using LID practices throughout the design development process, students are saving materials and money to maximize their design intended to create a special place for NCSU’s on-campus residents.
