September 2, 2011 (Raleigh, NC)— NC State Bookstores is hosting their annual t-shirt design contest September 1 – September 15. The winning t-shirt design is sold in NC State Bookstores for $10; $2 from each t-shirt sold benefits Pack Promise, NC State’s scholarship program for incoming freshmen with a great financial need.
NC State Bookstores t-shirt design contest is now an annual tradition that began in 2008. Four winning designs have been printed so far with themes ranging from “Peace, Love, Pack” to the NC State Fight Song. First, second and third place winning entries receive $300, $100, and $50 gift cards to the NC State Bookstores.
The winning design is selected by a panel of representatives from NC State Bookstores and Campus Enterprises. After a design is selected, t-shirts will be created and made available for purchase at the NC State Bookstores’ new location on the ground floor of Harrelson Hall, near D.H. Hill Library.
Students are invited to submit their entries for a t-shirt design to the bookstore via email at: ncstatebookstores@gmail.com by September 15. All currently enrolled NC State students are eligible to participate. Campus-wide voting on the design entries will begin September 16 and end September 21. The selected design will be sold in NC State Bookstores beginning October 15.
Pack Promise is a scholarship program created by NC State University to ensure that incoming freshmen with limited financial means will receive 100 percent of their financial aid requirements through a combination of scholarships, grants, Federal Work-Study employment and need-based loans. After a student is admitted as a Pack Promise recipient, he or she will receive additional resources from the program to help the student succeed personally and academically.
