Schedule: Past 7 Days

Existing Talley

1. Completed the 3rd and 4th floor separation walls

2. Completed the east side temporary stair erection (by Reynolds)

3. Cut the northeast building column

– Blog post on the process: Digging a Little Deeper – Column Shoring and Extension

4. Started the north stairwell separation walls

North of Talley – West Side (Future site of Dock, Dining, Senate Chambers & Arts NC State)

1. Continued site grading and shoring

2. Replaced storm manhole #1 and connected the piping

3. Mobilized the auger cast pile contractor

North of Talley – East Side (Future site of Dining, Ballroom and Meeting Rooms)

1. Continued site grading and shoring

Other Areas

1. Steam line work at Cates Ave.

 

Schedule: Next 7 Days

Construction Noise will continue to be RED

Existing Talley

1. Complete the temporary stair separation walls

2. Open the 2nd floor temporary corridor and stairs

– This is for temporary emergency exit from parts of the building.

3. Start the north entrance separation walls

– Note that as the north entrances (labeled emergency exit only) close, some emergency exits will change.

4. Begin ground floor glazing abatement and demolition

North of Talley – West Side (Future site of Dock, Dining, Senate Chambers & Arts NC State)

1. Begin concrete wall demolition outside of the Wolves Den

2. Continue the site grading and shoring

3. Install the auger cast test pile

North of Talley – East Side (Future site of Dining, Ballroom and Meeting Rooms)

1. Continue the site grading and shoring

Other areas

1. Steam line work at Cates Ave.
