October 2019

Bethany Rainwater

Student Employee, Employee Development and Engagement

Bethany’s Nomination:
“Bethany has been tending to all the details of getting student employees enrolled in the New Student Employee Orientation. This includes managing a complicated spreadsheet, answering inquiries from students and managers, and sending out weekly reports. In 2019, we have the highest completion percentage we’ve ever had in 3 years of doing this orientation. We are well into the semester, and so far 99.8 percent of new student employees have done their orientation within the expected time! A lot of that has been due to Bethany’s consistent and timely work.”

Elizabeth Torres

Temporary Employee, Clark Dining Hall

Elizabeth’s Nomination:
“Elizabeth has only worked at Clark for four months, but her drive and work ethic have moved her from dish room to front of house service and now line station cook. She is working in the kitchen learning to do cook production, follow recipes and learning the production plans. Elizabeth often does her own station prep and set up. She also helps with lunch production and next day prep. She is flexible in her job tasks since she has been cross-trained in all front of house positions, and she does not hesitate to help when someone needs a hand. Clark Dining is proud to have Elizabeth as a team member.”

Brian Corcoran

Permanent Employee, Talley Main Kitchen

Brian’s Nomination:
“As an outside observer, I see him maintain a high level of efficiency with planning and executing and finding ways to make things work for the best results for our guests in catering. I have seen him make time to work with anyone willing to learn. This understaffed area continues to thrive financially as well as build guest relations all throughout campus. Chef Brian makes the best out of everything and works through issues for the results needed to be a successful catering operation!”
