How Campus Enterprises is Safeguarding its Employees Amidst COVID-19

|

A New and Different NC State

Campus Enterprises has been preparing for a new and different NC State as 1400+ employees begin to return for the fall semester. The division remains committed to the health and well-being of every employee as we activate operations across campus. We have provided a comprehensive plan for what to expect as an employee on campus.

Safety Measures Implementation

In addition to our existing and enhanced cleaning, disinfecting and sanitizing protocols, Campus Enterprises has also implemented other safety measures to protect the campus community, including but not limited to:

  • Physical Distance and Barriers
    • Providing plexiglas shields at high contact points such as cash register stands and reception desks.
    • Offering touchless or mobile payment to reduce touch points between employees and customers.
    • Marking floors for six-foot distance and supplying directional signage for customers to create a flow of traffic in our spaces.
    • Complying with the State of North Carolina’s limitations on gatherings.
    • Encouraging telecommuting of administrative personnel, job sharing and cross training in accordance with physical distancing requirements and as appropriate for the position.
    • Having supervisors provide rotating employee shifts to prevent cross-contamination between teams when possible.
  • Face Coverings
    • Providing face coverings for employees.
    • Requiring all employees to wear a face covering.
    • Requiring visitors and guests to wear face coverings, and when they cannot, providing alternative methods for service.
  • Frequent Hand Washing
    • Providing hygiene materials (i.e. hand sanitizer, soap, etc) and ensuring that facilities (i.e. faucets) are in working order.

Other campus resources such as videos that demonstrate the numerous ways NC State is working to keep employees, students, and the entire campus community safe and healthy have been provided as well. Those videos are listed below.

With these workplace safety standards and detailed guidelines provided to employees, Campus Enterprises’ intent is to sustain a safe and welcoming work environment for both employees who have been on campus and for those who are working remotely.
