NC State Dining is closing four locations due to significantly decreased populations until further notice. These include:

Main Campus – Port City Java – Nelson and D-Cafe

Centennial Campus – Port City Java – Textiles and Shuttle Inn – Textiles

“These are small operations in colleges where students and staff are sparse at this time. We still have larger operations nearby, with a complete listing at dining.ncsu.edu,” said Shawn Hoch, director of hospitality services. “We will continue to evaluate foodservice needs throughout the semester and make adjustments as needed.”

Common Grounds at Hunt Library reopened Monday, August 17 after a remodel. Now a hybrid marketplace, it will offer Peet’s coffee, a wide assortment of cold beverages, sandwiches, salads, and snacks. In a few weeks, they will be debuting Howling Cow’s new half-pint hard dip ice cream. Until then, their signature pints will be available. Diners are able to order through Grubhub and at the point of sale with contactless payment.

Fountain, Clark and Case are re-opening to faculty and staff effective August 17, 2020.

“We had asked our faculty and staff to dine in our restaurants and cafes the first few weeks after students started to return to campus while we ensured our new protocols were working effectively to serve a large number of students,” said Hoch. “We are pleased with how our plans are working and therefore are ready for our faculty and staff to return.”
