October marks the midway point of the 2023-24 SHRA performance year and the start of the Interim Review cycle. Please ensure that completed Interim Reviews are due no later than Friday, November 3, 2023.
During the Interim Review cycle, supervisors are to meet with employees, review their progress toward individual goals and institutional values, and document that feedback in the WolfPack Performance Program (WPP). Supervisors will use a Checkpoint to complete their Interim Review. Click here to watch the Checkpoint user guide video.
As you are reflecting on employee performance and preparing for these important feedback discussion with your team, please consider the following:
- Provide positive and constructive feedback to employees during the Interim Review meeting.
- Discuss any obstacles preventing an employee from meeting expectations for a particular goal or value.
- Document continued performance or conduct concerns and include steps the employee must take to improve.
- Conduct additional Off-Cycle Reviews or informal employee discussions, as needed, throughout the performance year. A well-documented Interim Review and continuous feedback throughout the performance year will ensure there are no surprises on the annual appraisal.
Upcoming training opportunities are available specific to the SHRA Performance Management process. Campus Enterprises is also offering ‘Feedback that’s Fair’ for supervisors and ‘Rocking the Review‘ for employees. Additional workshops are available through the UHR Learning and Organizational Development team that may be helpful resources for supervisors.
