NC State to launch Course Ready Program next spring

|

Course Ready is NC State’s digital-preferred, flat-rate course materials program designed to streamline access to essential course materials for undergraduate students enrolled in undergraduate courses at NC State.

Students who choose to take advantage of the program will have day one access to all required textbooks, lab manuals, access codes, and electronic books for one low price per semester – regardless of their major. The cost for the program will be a flat rate fee each fall and spring semester, plus tax. By aligning the cost of learning materials with standard tuition and fees, the program will reduce financial disparities across different fields of study and promote equitable academic opportunities for students.

Eligible undergraduate students will be automatically enrolled in the program, and will receive instructions via email on how to access their materials. Individuals wanting to opt out and procure their course materials elsewhere can opt out by the drop deadline within any given semester. The program is set to launch with the spring 2025 semester.

Within Course Ready, materials are provided in a convenient digital format accessible either through Moodle, NC State’s learning management system or directly via a link to the publisher’s website. Students can expect to access their course materials no later than the first day of classes, ensuring they have ample time to prepare for their coursework.
