Attention Supervisors:
University Human Resources has advised CE HR of their processing deadline dates to accommodate the holiday schedule. Please keep these dates in mind and provide CE HR with at least 2 – 3 days to process your request. Questions regarding deadline dates can be directed to your HR Generalist.
Classification and Compensation – Salary Actions
December salary actions for SHRA and EHRA employees received via PeopleAdmin by 5:00 p.m. November 18 will receive priority review for the December 5 monthly payroll lockout deadline. Salary actions requiring external approval may not be processed in time for the December lockout due to external review cycles.
Talent Acquisition – Postings and Hiring Proposals
Job postings received by 5:00 p.m. November 22 will receive priority review for posting prior to the Thanksgiving break. Hiring proposals received by 5:00 p.m. November 26 will receive priority review for approval before the Thanksgiving break.
Job postings received by 5:00 p.m. December 18 will receive priority review for posting prior to winter break. Hiring proposals received by 5:00 p.m. December 20 will receive priority review for approval before winter break.
Please note that if you are planning for new employees to start before winter break, we recommend that you make your hiring selections and submit hiring proposals to University Human Resources by November 17 to account for the time needed for hiring proposal analysis, potential external reviews and approvals, background check processing and for candidates to give notice to their current employers with enough time to begin before the winter break.
HR Service Center – Background Checks
HR will continue to process background check requests in the order received. JAR actions for spring semester (early January) hires received by HR on or before December 13 will receive priority for completion prior to the winter break.
HR Service Center – I-9s
Regarding I-9s, please remember that January 1, 2025, is a holiday for the university. If a new employee’s start date is January 1, please make sure the employee completes section 1 of the online I-9 form on or before January 1 on their own. The employee will then need to complete section 2 of the form with an I-9 user no later than 5:00 p.m. Monday, January 6, 2025.
