NC State Student Centers has unveiled Wolfpack, the 2026 installation in the university’s Student Mural Series. Created by student artist Hannah Davenport, the new artwork brings together the places, traditions, and people that shape the NC State experience.
Located on the main level of Talley Student Union, the digital illustration is printed on fabric and features vibrant imagery inspired by campus and the broader NC State community.
Celebrating the NC State experience
Davenport, a second-year student in the College of Design majoring in Graphic & Experience Design with a minor in Art + Design, uses illustration, contemporary mural design and expressive typography to create a visual journey through NC State.
The piece draws inspiration from Raleigh, Main Campus, Centennial Campus and the agricultural campus. At the center, Wolfpack serves as an emblem of shared identity, surrounded by details inspired by the university’s Hallowed Places.
A rocket launch references NC State alumna Christina Koch and represents the university’s spirit of discovery and exploration.
The artwork also explores how illustration and typography can shape the way people move through and experience a space. With layered imagery and details, the mural encourages viewers to look closer and discover something new each time they see it.
