Harrelson Hall is the temporary location for NC State Bookstores during the Talley Project.

June 3, 2011 (Raleigh, NC)— NC State Bookstores at North Carolina State University will be opening in Harrelson Hall on Central Campus on Monday, June 6, 2011.  The ground floor of Harrelson Hall is the temporary location for NC State Bookstores until the Talley Student Center Renovation and Addition is complete in 2014.

NC State Bookstores building on Dunn Avenue had been the store’s headquarters since 1959.  This location closed permanently on May 27.  Construction fencing will surround the former location this summer as the Talley Student Center project breaks ground.

A grand opening and ribbon-cutting celebration will be held for the NC State Bookstores’ new location on move-in weekend,  August 12-14.  The celebration will be held in the bookstore’s new facility and will extend into the Brickyard.

To accommodate the bookstore, the ground floor of Harrelson Hall was up-fitted in the spring of 2011.  The walls of the ground floor have been covered in graphics related to the NC State Bookstores, NC State Student Affairs (also temporary tenants of the building) and the Talley project.

“By applying graphics to the outside of our new location, we hope that the NC State Community will make the NC State Bookstores’ temporary location a destination on central campus,” said Richard Hayes, director of NC State Bookstores.  “We are excited about occupying this centrally-located space, while our permanent location is constructed.”
