NC State Dining Names Associate Director of Dining Services

August 8, 2011 (Raleigh, NC) —  Shawn Hoch has been named associate director of dining services within Campus Enterprises at NC State University.  Hoch began his role as associate director on August 8, 2011.

Hoch is now the director of daily operations for all NC State Dining locations.  His responsibilities include supervision of purchasing, food preparation and recipes, food presentation, staffing, and sanitation.   Directors of retail operations within NC State Dining will now report to Hoch.

Hoch graduated first in his class from Western Culinary Institute with an associate’s degree in culinary arts and has a certification in menu research and development from the Culinary Institute of America.  Prior to accepting his role with NC State Dining, Hoch worked at Case Western Reserve University with Bon Appétit Management Company as a general manager.  He worked to ensure that Bon Appétit’s culinary philosophy, operational standards and financial goals were met.  Hoch has also served as executive chef and associate director at Washington State University.

“I believe Shawn’s culinary training and management experience will help us continue to strengthen our campus dining program,” said Randy Lait, senior director of hospitality services.  “NC State Dining welcomes Shawn in his new role as associate director of dining services.”
