January 16, 2013 (Raleigh, N.C.) – A new tee shirt to commemorate the immortalized moment of CJ Leslie saving Will Privette is now available at the NC State Bookstore.
In the height of a shocking victory, CJ Leslie transcended sports. Despite a wild celebration and a standout performance, Leslie had the awareness to see that something was not right. After a wheelchair bound Will Privette rushed the court following an upset victory over number one Duke, he ended up on the floor after his wheelchair was inadvertently knocked over. Leslie, seeing the student in trouble, hoisted him up so he would not get trampled. It started out as a rescue and resulted in more cheers as Privette spent the next few minutes cheering from Leslie’s shoulders.
“[It was] the dumbest thing I’ve ever done,” said Privette, “I told [my friend] that I wanted to [rush the court] so we did it.” Despite the likelihood Privette will not be rushing the court again, “Roll Pack” has become the hot topic on campus.
The Tee Shirts are officially licensed by NC State, and $2.00 for every shirt sold will go to “We Connect Now,” a student organization on campus that acts as a support network for NC State students with disabilities. In addition to the $2.00, shirts that are purchased at NC State Bookstores will yield greater returns, as net proceeds will be donated to need- and merit-based scholarships for students.
Roll Pack Tee shirts are available at NC State Bookstores on campus and in its affiliated State Stuff Stores on game days at the PNC Center while supplies last.
