Annaka Sikkink, Campus Enterprises’ employee development and engagement coordinator, has been selected as one of six Finance and Administration employees to win the division’s 2023 Award for Excellence for her work to develop the university’s Digital Access and Inclusion Project.
“Annaka is attuned to the challenges of a workforce that does not utilize a computer every day, yet is required to use digital technology platforms to perform job requirements, such as completing online training, receiving campus communications and navigating MyPack portal,” said Kristie Juda, Campus Enterprises’ human resources manager in her nomination. “So, when the university rolled out the data security training for employees a few years ago, she acknowledged a greater need to support Campus Enterprise employees to fulfill this requirement. Moreover, she identified other campus divisions and departments with employees who were experiencing the same technological barriers.”
Sikkink spearheaded a summit of campus partners to bring awareness to the subject. From the summit, she and her committee developed outcomes that focused on three areas: access to technology, training and employee development, and operational considerations. Further, the group created the Digital Access and Inclusion Project.
“Annaka coordinated the installation of two computer kiosks for Campus Enterprises’ employees, “said Juda. “Annaka and her team have also created tutorials to walk employees through the steps to logging in to MyPackPortal, or how to check their direct deposit statement.”
Sikkink will go on to represent Finance and Administration for the NC State University Awards for Excellence at a ceremony to be held on June 14, 2023.
