LaShawn McLamb, a dedicated member of the NC State Dining team, has been honored with two of the university’s highest staff accolades—the University Award for Excellence and the Head of the Pack Award—for her extraordinary contributions to the campus community.

McLamb was selected as a recipient of the University Award for Excellence in the human relations category. This recognition places her among an elite 12 employees who exemplify excellence in their work and will go on to represent the university for the Governor’s Award for Excellence.
In addition, the NC State Staff Senate awarded McLamb the Head of the Pack Award, which honors senators or contributors who demonstrate exceptional dedication and a commitment to excellence. McLamb was recognized for her work with the Access, Belonging and Opportunity Committee, where she brought not only insight and thoughtful feedback but also a spirit of hospitality and collaboration.
“LaShawn’s cheerful demeanor has been a true asset to our committee, fostering a positive and welcoming environment for all members,” her nomination read. “Her proactive engagement, kindness and dedication have significantly shaped the direction of our work.”
These dual honors reflect McLamb’s ongoing impact on the university, both in her role with NC State Dining and through her service to the wider campus community.
