Campus Enterprises and Emergency Management Recognized for Marketing Partnership

The Campus Enterprises marketing team was recognized for its contribution to addressing the immediate signage and communication needs related to opening the campus last summer as well as its continuing support throughout the following year.

In May 2020 while University Communication was focused on a virtual graduation ceremony, our marketing team offered to take the lead on COVID-19 related signage, including the masked Mr. and Ms. Wuf. The team worked with Emergency Management and Mission Continuity (EMMC) to identify needs and create solutions, including floor stickers, seating/table stickers, digital screen images and more, then created a digital space for the images to be available to the campus community. The team also worked with Wolf Xpress to make materials available for printing on-site.

Dr. Amy Orders, director of Emergency Management and Mission Continuity, submitted details of the combined effort (which also included Facilities) in the Campus Safety, Health and Environmental Management Association’s (CSHEMA) 2021 Marketing and Communications Campaign Award competition with the title, “Year of Partnerships.” The submission won first place, and the team was honored at the association’s virtual ceremony held in July.

Two Campus Enterprises Employees – Jennifer Gilmore and Jane Neeley – were invited to a special luncheon with the Chancellor to celebrate the cross-university teamwork required to successfully reopen the campus and react to the ever-changing environment.

If ever the pandemic had a good element, it is the new teams that have come together to make novel program needs manifest quickly, said Dr. Orders. “Great partners made spectacular things happen. We are forever grateful for everyone’s help!”
