Tapingo, Popular On-Campus Ordering App, Comes to NC State

|

NC State NC State Dining has partnered with the popular food ordering app, Tapingo, to make eating on campus more convenient than ever before.  Tapingo, a contextual shopping app that processes on-the-go orders and makes items available for pickup within minutes, launched on Monday, November 9 at select NC State Dining locations, including Jason’s Deli, Tuffy’s Diner, Port City Java, Starbucks, On the Oval, and more.

Students, faculty and staff at NC State will benefit from advanced mobile ordering and pickup, via Tapingo’s smartphone app. Tapingo (free to download) will enable NC State students, faculty and staff to purchase through the app via Dining Dollars, Meal Credits, AllCampus student funds or a major credit card. Upon opening the app, users can browse the menus of nearby venues and place an order from the comfort and space of their own mobile device. Once an order is ready, Tapingo sends a text notification to the user, who can pick it up and avoid waiting in line. Embodying the Tapingo lifestyle of “wait less, live more” Tapingo’s technology is so advanced that the app remembers personalized choices (hold the mayo) for one-tap reordering.

NC State Dining hopes to add AllCampus payroll deduction for faculty and staff as an option for payment in the future.

As part of an ongoing commitment to innovation and service, NC State Dining sees a partnership with Tapingo as a perfect way to give choice and convenience to students, faculty and staff. Randy Lait, senior director of Hospitality Services believes the Wolfpack will appreciate the convenience stating, “Tapingo provides us with an opportunity to offer a convenient mobile solution and further strengthens our ability to provide outstanding customer service on campus.”

About Tapingo

Since its founding in 2012, Tapingo has leveraged mobile technology to solve a key problem for students: lack of time. Whether confronted with long lines while racing between classes, needing a “midnight boost” during late-night study sessions, or faced with a lack of options when living off campus, students are increasingly in search of a new solution to meet their needs. With just a few taps, users can browse menus, order and pay, then schedule pickup or have their order delivered. Tapingo provides a streamlined buying process that benefits both the students and the campuses, while driving habitual purchase and eliminating operational inefficiencies. Today, Tapingo processes tens of thousands of transactions per day, and the average user utilizes the service more than five times per week. Serving 46 markets from Alaska to Miami, Tapingo is the ideal commerce solution for the on-the-go on-demand generation.
